Induced Abortion must be Banned
Induced abortion had been one of the most controversial issues since 1973. I believe that it is time to end the dispute and prohibit this immoral but legal murder. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) states that a total of 854,122 legal induced abortions were reported to CDC for 2002. When the unreported abortions are added, since CDC is a passive recipient of reports voluntarily sent to it by the states, the number will increase shockingly. "Therefore, Almost every third baby conceived in America is killed by abortion" (www.abortionfacts.com). We must ban the abortion and save those precious lives.
I believe that whether the unborn being is a fetus, embryo or fully-grown baby, it is a human being. Therefore, right after the sperm enters the egg, it gets all the human rights. In July 4, 1776, our founding fathers stated, "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (Declaration of Independence)." According to this statement, abortion is against our human rights. Those unborn human beings must be protected and respected. It is their rights and no one can infringe their rights.
We must prohibit abortion for our teenagers. On the televisions, movies, computers, and even music, there are too much sexual stimuli that lead teenagers to have irresponsible sexual intercourses. Having abortion as an exit of their responsibility, they feel easier about having unprotected sexual intercourses. Those unprotected sex will lead them to have abortions and teenagers will misunderstand the importance of life and underestimate the values of human rights. Therefore, they are corrupting their morals and the society by having abortions. However, by banning abortion, we could reduce and prevent from their unjust actions and teach them the importance of life.
