Abortion: Is it right?
What constitutes a living person: Do you have to be born into this world; are you considered human as a fetus or do we even have the right to say? It is my beliefs that God does and lets things happen for a purpose. Meaning that if you get pregnant then it was Gods will for you to get pregnant. There for does this give you the right to reject Gods plans? I think that people have abortions for several good reasons but none of them give you the right to do it. Some of these are rape victims, young unmarried teenagers, and fetuses known to have mental or physical handicaps.
Rape victims are very touchy subjects with many people, But you need to ask yourself is it the fault of the baby that you are pregnant. What if you were the baby, would you want your mother to abort you because your dad raped her. Scientists believe that you are not actually human until you start to develop human characteristics. According to abortionfacts.com “Hitler and Stalin are the only to people that have ever put a price tag on human life” (Willke, 2006). So, does this mean that we should be able to do the same thing just to solve a problem? Or should we face the fact and live with it as best as we can.
Young unmarried teens are one of the most common to have abortions because there parents don’t want them to have the burden of a child while they are so young. I think this hurts the children because they see it as just a way out and another reason to have sex at such an early age. If it were illegal then people would be more cautious and hopefully result in less children getting pregnant. 1.2% of all teens under the age of 15 in Georgia had an abortion in 2007, that’s 492 babies that died because someone decided that it would be easier or more economical to have it killed than take the responsibility of raising the child (Willke, 2006).
