A Week In China

Day 1

We had a good night sleep in Shanghai, China and ready to explore the city. I went down to breakfast where I met a couple of my classmates. The breakfast was different but very interesting and tasty. After breakfast we walked around the beautiful city of Shanghai. Our first stop was to the Shanghai Urban Exhibition Center. While there we experience the history of China as well as the upcoming events of China, which is the Expo 2010. China is preparing the host the World's Expo in 2010 and the motto is "Better City, Better Life". The Chinese people are so well organized the exhibition center was such an eye opener. Located inside were many exhibits of Chinese churches, life in China, and last but certainly not least the virtual China for the future. The virtual China was the most exciting part about the Center, which one level was actually China as a whole very detailed.

Day 2

Good morning again Shanghai!! Ate breakfast at the hotel and were off to the Oriental Pearl Tower. Construction on the tower began in 1991 and was completed in 1995. It sits 1,535 feet high; it's the second tallest structure in Asia right after the Shanghai World Financial Center. It's the third tallest in the world. The tower features 11 spheres, big and small. The tower has fifteen observatory levels. The elevator goes at such a high speed; it took us about 2 minutes to make it to the top of the tower. When you're on the inside of the tower it's just a great experience. While looking outside of the window seeing the beautiful city of Shanghai I noticed that we were really high off the ground. We were so high we saw all the smog in the clouds. Inside was some binoculars were you had to pay 1 Yuan to see out of and it was a picture perfect moment. But I can't forget about the best yet scariest part about the tower, located inside the tower was a glass floor which was recently added to the tower. I was so scared to place my foot on the glass yet seeing everyone else walking on...
