A Time To Kill
A Sneak Preview
A Time to kill. A story of a father’s retribution to two young white people for beating, raping and almost killing his ten-year old daughter, Tonya. Who would tolerate such an inhuman act especially that she was a small, innocent, black girl who was badly beaten up and was left at near death?
So, Carl Lee Hailey let his good, old time friend, Atty. Jake Brigance, to have the defense. But, Carl Lee committed an assault rifle to the two whites and took justice into his own outraged hands. As a strategy, the defense planned to acquit him by the reason of insanity. Would he be acquitted? There’s still a jury of whites and some blacks to please..
Because of Jake’s participation in this trial, there comes a time that his life has been threatened by the Ku Klux Klan—an organization which would march and stand up for the two young whites for they believe that niggers have plenty of protection in the state especially in the government and court—by making his house burned, verbal assaults on phone calls, and most likely, shot him and put also his family at risk.
As the trial days became tougher, Jake struggled his way to save Carl Lee Hailey from the gas chamber. With the help of his law clerk, Ellen Roark, colleagues Lucien Wilbanks and Harry Rex Vonner and Sheriff Ozzie Walls, he was able to adjudge everyone in the case.

Yes, it took me three days to finish it. A story that I want to read it non-stop. But I can’t defeat sleepiness that’s why the next day I read it, the thrill and emotions and excitement are long before...
