SANTA CLARA -- It took until the sixth round Sunday, but the 49ers found a receiver to their liking. They selected the risk- reward combination of Josh Morgan from Virginia Tech.
Morgan is a well-built receiver with a powerful stride and a knack for breaking tackles.
He also has a brush with the law on his resume, with officers once needing to subdue him with a blast of pepper spray, according to a 2006 police report.
Police say Morgan punched at the driver's side window of a truck and then opened the door as if preparing for an assault.Morgan refused to submit to an arrest, according to the report, which is why the officers gave him a quick burst of pepper spray.

After the incident, Virginia Tech suspended Morgan and defensive end Chris Ellis, who was also present, for one game. Morgan was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing justice, and Ellis was charged with obstructing justice -- all misdemeanors.
