Nationalism as the solution to the economic problem of the Philippines

    There are many ways to save our economy but I think the best way to do it is by simply loving our country, by having a nationalistic attitude. Another thing is that our government should have political will. In the sense that we minimize in consuming foreign products, minimize foreign investors and instead we give more opportunities to the local business men. After all these have been made we should plan our economy.
First, in order for us to solve this problem our country should have political will. Our leaders should open their eyes and realize that foreign investments don’t really help us in paying our national debt because our leaders highly depend on foreign investors so much that they didn’t even realize that these investors only use us for their market. For example, we mainly export our natural resources which the foreign investors buy and after which, they bring the processed material here then they sell it to us with a higher cost. And another example is when they bring back the processed material which they bought from us then they make their products here because we have cheap labor then also sell it here with higher prices. Therefore they really don’t help, they only make themselves to become richer and richer. And also our government should open their eyes that they should not believe these foreigners’ chocolate coated lies especially the U.S. even though they say they want to help us the primary motive still remains which is mainly economic.
Another way of solving this problem is by being nationalistic in the sense that we should love our own, meaning we should remove or at least minimize our “colonial mentality”. We should give more opportunities to our own local business men. We should remove the thought that imported goods are better than the local ones. This should
