Increase profits of by re-creating and re-positioning a local Chinese company’s products into innovative, global products. A global product is described as satisfying constraints imposed by global and cultural business markets.

1. Redesign a conventional local product into a global product
2. Design global internet-ready products.
3. Redesign existing products with emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendly.

Pay attention to the following

1. The product should be a physical product.
2. The product should be a marketable global product
3. The people, meaning potential consumers, should desire ownership of this product since it should bring benefit to the people in their daily life. It must be designed for at least two regions of the world. Also, the customer wants a product, which is different from existing products.

Where do you begin?

Your project group will have to answer this question first. The CEO of your company believes in “out of the box” thinking and challenging the bright minds to give it their best. As a group, make a plan of the tasks that you will perform. Focus on the available resources(time, design and manufacturing facilities, software, etc.).To get started, consider the following:

1. What is the benefit of the company’s product for a global market?
2. What are candidate products?
3. What are the two （2）regions for which the product is being considered？
4. Who are the customers of the product in those regions?
5. Is it possible to design a global product without further adaptation for target regions?(Global design?)
6. Is there any competitor who is offering similar product(in the same region) yet?
7. What are the main customer requirements?
8. For the chosen product, can your group finish the product design and manufacturing of a reasonable prototype in three months with the available resources(time, design and manufacturing facilities, software,etc.)?
